G13 review after 2 weeks of play, 13 April 2009

I play Age of Conan and this device has very much improved my pvp play. It helps alot to be able to use the mini thumb joystick and move around easily during intense pvp melee combat. This is the the play aspect that sets Age of Conan apart from other MMO's and the G13 takes some getting used to but is a great help in this area, once you get over the learning curve. The G13 is very comfortable to use and you can configure it easily in any set-up you like. The best PC game pad I have ever used.

I purchased this device a short while ago in the hopes that it would sharpen my game up a little - I play World of Warcraft with a guild that is constantly chasing down hard-mode PvE achievements and I also like to engage in a spot of PvP once in a while, so the ability to move quickly, shoot while moving, and generally react instantly to the changing environment is crucial.

This is a fantastic device for my purposes, and I would rate it as the #2 item that every WoW player simply must have. (#1 being a Blizzard authenticator, for obvious reasons...)

The thumb joystick works well, and lets me easily move while shooting while using the mouse to control where I'm looking - its angle to my hand while on the device still feels a bit off after a few weeks of playing, and that is pretty much the only improvement I would suggest for the device, except that it would be nice if the software for the G13 and G19 keyboard could also be used to control my G9 mouse profiles. A 10-15 degree clockwise adjustment would probably make it perfectly angled for my hand.

Note: It takes some time to get used to the unit and the key layouts you decide upon. Don't try taking this into a raid or arena on the same day you purchase it - give it some time until you can find your keybound abilities without fumbling about.

Also, take the time to devise a number of macros either in-game or in the device control panel. It really is worth it when you start using the Logitech macro utility with any keybound abilities you have. Think shot rotations, think GCD wait times built into macros, think awesome-sauce!

Awesome device. I had a Nostromo and just couldn't get to love it. Different story with the G13, if you took it away from me today I wouldn't be able to raid.

Should Have Bought this Sooner, 10 July 2010

I am extremely satisfied with the Humax Freesat recorder, the picture and sound quality are far superior to SKY. It was easy to set up and recording is so simple now. It is great to have only 1 box of tricks instead of 2. The only hassle was taking a new cable right therough my loft, and having to climb a ladder. I would definitely reccommend this to anyone who is fed up with SKY and wants to watch programmes in HD. Our LCD TV really does complete the new viewing experience.

I bought this sat box and cancelled sky HD and second room all options that was costing £71 per month. The choice of programmes and quality over the satelite are more than adequate. The stop, pause, rewind, tv is dead easy to use and the record option from the on-screen guide is as simple as the sky one was.

If you have sky, kick it into touch and grab yourself one of these, it will pay for itself in 3 monts!!

This prduct was bought for my parents and I have been very impressed with its simplicty having heard some reviews say how complicated it was compared to Sky+ (which I have).
Set-up is simple with everything automated, the only thing you need to do is insert your postcode for regional viewing settings.
I would say it is slightly more complex than Sky+ in that you store all series linked (or multiples of each programme) in separated folders (as you would on a PC) but anyone who has ever used a computer or read the instructions will pick it up immediately.
Picture quality in SD is at least as good as Sky SD and the freesat HD channels look great (pity you only have 3 at present). Both my parents and myself live in a weak freeview signal area so the reassurance of no picture drop out was the main reason for freesat rather than freeview.
With most new HD TV's now having only a freeview HD receiver (except Panasonic), this box gives you the ability to see the full range of free channels available with the capability to record everything on freesat. Freesat has the vast majority of channels most people would want to record (incuding HD when available) but some channels are only on freeview or freesat not both - see their websites and check which ones you are most likely to record!
This Humax box lets you pause live TV, watch one channel while recording another and series link, pretty much everything you can do with Sky+ except you don't pay £26+ per month for doing it!
It does require x2 LNB cables to do this which could mean a new dish if you only have a single cable coming off an old Sky dish (as in our case) but this cost including installation was only a one off £120.
This box is also capable of viewing BBC i-player as long as you have broadband and an ethernet cable connected to it (ITV on demand coming soon).
All in all a great package at a reasonable price.

I just wanted a basic DVD player with no fancy frills. It's compact and good looking and performs exactly as you would expect. Good picture quality and easy to use. The remote control is a bit small but quite usable. Very good value for money.

A good buy, 1 May 2011

I placed my order and I had this player within 3 working days. It arrived by courier and was well packed.

A very nice, sleek & compact player. I tried it out with various R1 and R2 discs and they all played fine, so no issues at all with it's "multi-region" label - it does exacly what it says on the tin.

I've knocked off one star because the disc tray is a little flimsy, but having said that many are these days. At the time of writing, I've only had it a few days but I've never had a problem with Toshiba gear before, so I feel comfortable in recommending it to others as a good-quality product for a decent price.

All round great machine but a positive word of warning. This machine does NOT come with a "USB printer" lead so unless you are connecting by WI-FI order one at the same time. Also ink cartridges supplied have just enough to print a few A4 photos so would suggest you order them as well.
I have been a Epson fan for many years my last being the PX700W which gave what I thought was excellent results until the scanner unit twisted giving me distorted pictures. A lot of searching & comparison tests led me to the Canon 6150. Having used it & comparing it my previous Epson pictures the results are outstanding. Colours & detail are deep & vibrant. Yes there are a few niggles, why do you have to wade through a 30 page manual when it could easily have been condensed into a 2 page "quick start" sheet & intial start up to first print takes a good minute while it seems to have to go through a test & clean process.
Amazon was best price & now the machine has been out a few months original replacement inks can be sourced at a fair price.
Buy, you won't be dissappointed.
